A Castle (Obidos) and a Dump (Tuesday)

As usual we got a late start. We tried to drive non-stop until we arrived at Obidos. But we ended up stopping at one of the service areas for a snack that avo and avo had helped us pack. Sandes de queijo and prusunto. (Smoked ham and cheese sandwiches.) Obidios was simply beautiful. The houses are painted white with colorful yellow, blue and red trim. We stopped at the Pousada to see if we could have lunch but they restaurants all close at 3pm. We decided to eat once we arrived in Lisbon. We finally found the hotel that was recommended to us. When we arrived in the room we were all extremely disappointed. The hotel room looked like it was from about 35 years ago. It was extremely dark and the beds where made out of foam from about 25 years ago. The kids and the wife were all freaking out. I told them we just have to rough it for one night. But if everyone is really flipping out I can call the Marriot. Once I found out that the Marriot had rooms available for the evening and it was only 9 Euros more we were out of there. The doors didn’t have any deadbolt locks or even a chain link on the door. I told the hotel women that my wife didn’t feel comfortable in the hotel room and that we wouldn’t be staying there. She gave me my cash back.
When we arrived at our room at the Marriot, everyone was so excited to be in a nice hotel. We got cleaned up and had a great memorable dinner at the hotel. We all got the buffet and ate all kinds of great salads and dishes.
