Sucker for Parades and Marching Bands

This weekend we thought we would mix it up a bit and take the kids to Boston for lunch in North End. When we got there many of the roads in the North End were closed. We didn't quite know why at first. We decided to park over by Post Office Square were you can normally park for free on the street. A Portuguese person is usually pretty good at figuring out where they can park for free. When we got there all the street spots were taken which was bit unusual for a Sunday afternoon. We finally did find a spot. When we reached the street that goes to the aquarium we realized there was a parade going on for Columbus Day Weekend. We hung out by the side of the road and listened to all the great marching band pass by in the parade. I find marching bands really make me emotional.. not sure why. They actually remind me quite a bit of growing up in Cumberland where we would have the Portuguese Juventude Marching band pass by and the rancho dancers march by too. Anyways we had a wonderful time watching the parade. After which we headed over ot Faniuel Hall For some food. We ended up getting some great Indian food and slices of pizza.
