1 Year's time

This month marks the 1 year anniversary of me writing in the blog. The blog has been fustrating at times and enjoyable at other times. I guess it has kind of been like life. It has helped me make some connections with family members that are far away in other countries and to stay in touch with friends in other states. At last some of you are begining to leave comments. Thank you for that. Thank you for just visiting to see how things are going. Time goes by too quickly to not make an effort to stay in touch and see each other. If we wait too long there will be no more time left to share with our friends and family. The band Five for Fighting is pretty brilliant for capturing the essance of realizing life is short but you figure it out too late. 100 years

Homecoming 2006

A friends and family URI homecoming. I always wondered when we would again go to homecoming after all of us grew up and became "adults". Well this past weekend we celebrated an old URI tradition of homecoming. Unlike past homecoming where the celebrations pretty much kept us in the tailgate area we actually went to the game. We also decided to go in style. Thanks to hank we were able to book Suite no 1 in the Ryan Center. Although URI lost, the kids were able to have fun. The kids even did some pumpkin painting. After the game, We had our own football game right on the URI football field. Lou, Mike, Hank and Tony had fun playing against the kids. I was the sports photographer that took all the pictures. After the game, we got to show our kids where all of us went to college. During the tour my son told me he wanted to go to school there. It was a really beautiful and relaxing day spending time with some great friends. When I got home my daughter told me that I had some nice friends and family. I have to agree! I am very thankfull for them. Credit and thanks goes out to Tony for taking this photo. He is becoming a better photographer than me.

Painting and more painting.

We started painting the exterior of our house a little over a year. We spent the whole weekend painting to see if we can finish it before the cold weather comes.

Paint, paint, paint and more paint.. Unfortunately we weren't able to go apple picking which is a an annual tradition. Thanks to the kid's aunt, uncle and grandma they got to go.

I got out for an hour at the end of the day. More signs of fall.

A Year of 40th birthdays

I remember sitting on my bed in my dorm room at the end of freshman year in college. I sat trying to absorb and remember all the different experiences that had happened that year. I was surprised at how quickly the year had passed. Tonight I reminisce how quickly 20 years have past while I updating the blog to let you know that this weekend we celebrated our friend Lou's 40th birthday. Has it really been that many years since college? It almost doesn't calculate. It was a great time getting to see most of our friends and now their kids too.
